Ferrite Testing
We conduct Ferrite testing on welding and piping products with our portable hand held battery operated Fischer Feritscope MP30E-S ferrite testers.
Our Clients require us to undertake testing of substantial quantities of sub-sea wellhead Duplex and Super Duplex welded piping spools and their associated components.
This test, although seen by some as very basic, can often give indications that would perhaps only be found once something has gone wrong.
Should ferrite levels drop below certain percentage levels, this can subsequently show that incorrect heat treatment has been applied to the product or the presence of third phases in the material which can be detrimental to the in service life of Duplex and Super Duplex.
We test using methods that ensure obtained ferrite readings are correct and are truly relative to the samples under test.
We can also test certain austenitic weld metals for deposited ferrite content.
Hardness Testing
Incon have numerous types of portable Hardness testing machines available.
For Sub sea applications we use Foundrax indentor testers, this gives us the ability to test to the requirements of API6A PSL 3 & 4.
We can also offer other standard hardness testing to NACE MR-01-75 (ISO 15156) using industry standard testing machines including Krautkramer MIC10-DL, Equotip etc…
Weld Procedures and Welder Qualifications
With over thirty years experience in Writing Weld Procedures we can provide a quality service in providing Weld Procedures to Clients Specifications, both to ASME and BS. We also qualify Welders to Clients own Procedures or Project Specific Procedures which our Welding Engineers / Inspectors will oversee throughout, all qualifications / procedures are witnessed and endorsed by Third Party. We also provide the full range of Mechanical Testing required for Welder Qualifications / Procedures.
